FOCUS GROUP

To make sure we get the best results from our music video and Digi-pack design, we have put together a focus group which will be made up of people whom we believe are suited into our target audience (which can be seen on the previous post). These people are made up of friends or family, to make sure they are ideal, we have asked each person to listen to the track we are using, 'Over Night' and all of them gave us positive feedback about the song, saying they really enjoyed listening to it. Therefore, we believe all of these people will be able to give us valuable and valid feedback on all of the decisions that we make throughout this process, in order to make the most successful end product possible.
With social networking because the biggest up-and-coming, and easiest, form of communication, we have decided to make a face-book group where we can upload all of our work, and then members of the group can comment on what they think; we have specifically asked for good and bad comments, as well as ideas or advice, so that we can improve on our work in order to get the best results. The group can be seen in a screen shot below:
As well as this, I have also got each member of the focus group to give me their email address, and so I will also be receiving emails throughout the process, so that people will feel more confident about giving honest, and reliable advice privately - we hope that this will make it more valid feedback.

Throughout the process, I will be updating my blog with 'Audience Feedback' posts, which will show both feedback from teh face-book group, and the private emails, and then I will clearly show what we have decided to do, with the advice and feedback in mind.


FOCUS GROUP:


PHEBI THOMAS - Phebi is 17 years old and loves music, she plays the guitar and is very interested in photography, studying this, and English at College. Although she likes all aspects of music, she is particularly interested in acoustic music, and is extremely keen to help with our media work. As she plays acoustic music herself, we think that she will be ideal when coming up with good, fresh ideas which we can use. When emailing her asking if she would be happy to help, she replied, saying 'Sure thing! Sign me up!'

GAZ LAYTON - Gaz is 18 years old, and loves music. He has played the guitar and the piano since he was 10 years old and performs monthly to a local audience, mainly at local pubs. He also sings and writes his own songs, as well as attending numerous festivals every year and so we feel he will be able to give us some knowledgable, valid advice on our work. I asked him in person for his email, and if he would be happy to help, and he happily agreed, saying 'Can't wait guys!'


SAM BILLS - Sam is 18 years old, and is very creative. He goes to Shrewsbury college and studies music, although he doesn't play any instruments, he is eager to learn about the production and editing within the music industry. Therefore we felt he would have a lot of knowledge when looking at our media work, and hopefully his advice will be very beneficial for us. He is interested in media and current events, as well as Graphic Designs, and we feel this will also help us when looking at art aspects in the music video.

LIV ROSEVERE - Liv is 17 and is interested in science and the outdoors, however she is also very up to date with the current chart music, because of this, we feel she will be able to give us some valuable advice, as unlike the other people in our focus group, she is interested in chart music, not just acoustic, therefore we hope her advice will be able to keep our music video very current and up to date.  After texting Liv asking for permission to be involved, she agreed, adding 'Cant wait to see what you come up with!'


Throughout the process I will email each of my focus group, and print screen the feedback.
